What an ATS covers
- Sourcing: job requisition with approval, job posting, a branded careers page, referral capture
- Applicant tracking: a Kanban candidate pipeline, resume and profile parsing, candidate tagging, duplicate candidate detection
- Interview and selection: interview scheduling, structured scorecards, panel feedback aggregation, offer letter generation
- Analytics: source-wise hiring analysis, funnel drop-off analysis, time-to-hire, recruiter performance
Why structured scorecards matter
Unstructured interviews produce feedback that cannot be compared between candidates or between interviewers. Scoring against the same defined criteria makes evaluations comparable, which is what turns a hiring decision from an argument between three email threads into one view of the same data.
The handoff that usually breaks
Marking a candidate Hired should not be the end of the system's involvement. In a connected platform, that status change creates the employee record in HRMS and provisions the payroll profile automatically, removing the manual re-entry that commonly delays a new joiner's first salary cycle.
Dual-pipeline use
Recruitment agencies and staffing firms run two pipelines: candidates and clients. Running both on one data core is what makes margin per placement visible, particularly when attendance extends to deployed contract staff.
