By Mera Udyog Team · Last updated: November 6, 2026

Your sales team calls customers all day from their own phones. You have no idea who called whom, for how long, or which leads were never called back.
SIM based call tracking software fixes that without a call centre, a VoIP line or a single new phone number. But the tools look identical on their websites, and the details that decide whether one works for your team (which phones can record, what happens on an iPhone, what the law now says) are buried.
This guide compares 7 tools in rupees for 10 and 25 users, explains exactly which phones record calls, and ends with a 5-Phone Trial Test so you pick right the first time.
SIM based call tracking software is an app installed on an employee’s Android phone that automatically logs every call made or received on the phone’s SIM card, including number, time, duration and missed calls, and syncs it to a dashboard or CRM. Where the phone allows, it also uploads the call recording, with no VoIP line or desk phone needed.
Quick answer: best SIM based call tracking software in India (November 2026)
- Best for factories and retail chains: Mera Udyog combines SIM call tracking with CRM, attendance, payroll and GST billing for ₹9,999 a month (₹7,499 billed yearly) for up to 50 users.

How SIM Based Call Tracking Software Works
SIM based call tracking software works by reading the Android phone’s call log in the background and sending each call’s details to a cloud dashboard. The salesperson keeps calling from the normal phone dialer, on the normal SIM, with the normal calling plan.
Here is what happens on every call:
- The employee installs the app on a company or personal Android phone and logs in.
- The app reads the call log after each call: number, contact name, incoming or outgoing, duration, time and missed or rejected status.
- It matches the number to a lead in the CRM, so the call appears on that customer’s record.
- It picks up the recording file, if the phone’s dialer saved one, and uploads it.
- It syncs to the manager’s dashboard. If the phone has no internet, logs wait and sync once data returns.

What managers get out of it: calls per salesperson per day, talk time versus dial count, unanswered calls nobody returned, leads never called, and the first-call time on new enquiries. Those are the numbers most Indian SMEs track today in a register, or not at all.
The trade-off is control. Google Play restricts which apps may read call logs, so the app usually needs a declared CRM use case and several phone permissions, and battery saver settings can stop it in the background. We cover both in the trial test below.
SIM Based Call Tracking vs VoIP and Cloud Telephony
SIM based call tracking uses the employee’s existing mobile SIM and network, while VoIP dialers and cloud telephony route calls over the internet or through a virtual number from a provider. Each suits a different kind of team.
| Factor | SIM based call tracking | VoIP / cloud telephony (Exotel, Knowlarity, MyOperator) |
|---|---|---|
| Number the customer sees | Salesperson’s mobile number | Virtual or landline number |
| Call cost | Existing SIM plan, usually unlimited calls | Per-minute or per-channel charges |
| Needs internet during the call | No | Yes |
| Setup time | Install the app, grant permissions | Buy numbers, configure IVR and routing |
| Works in the field | Yes, anywhere with mobile network | Usually desk or app with data |
| Call recording | Depends on the phone (see Recording Reality Check) | Recorded on the server, every call |
| IVR, call queues, auto-dialer at scale | Limited | Strong |
| Best for | Field sales, dealer networks, branch staff, small telecalling teams | Large call centres, inbound helplines, high-volume outbound |
Our rule of thumb: if your team is mobile, calls from their own numbers and makes under about 100 calls a day each, SIM tracking is cheaper and simpler. If you run a 30-seat call floor with IVR and queues, cloud telephony wins.
Callyzer’s own platform data claims a 46 to 48% connect rate for Indian telecalling teams across more than 5 crore calls (Callyzer, October 2026). It is vendor data, but it shows why many teams prefer calling from a familiar 10-digit mobile number.

What SIM Based Call Tracking Costs for 10 and 25 Users
For a 10-user team, SIM based call tracking software costs from about ₹1,500 to ₹9,999 a month before GST, and the cheapest tool changes once the team grows. We priced every tool with a published rate at both team sizes.
| Tool and plan | 10 users / month | 25 users / month | What’s not included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Callyzer Basic (₹175/number) | ₹1,750 | ₹4,375 | Lead management, recording storage |
| Callyzer Basic + Lead (₹275/number) | ₹2,750 | ₹6,875 | Recording storage (₹500 per 5 GB) |
| NeoDove NeoLite / NeoPlus | ₹1,500 (₹17,999/year) | Ask vendor (NeoPlus covers 20 users) | WhatsApp API, IVR, VoIP |
| Runo yearly (₹599/user) | ₹5,990 | ₹14,975 | Paid integrations, if any |
| TeleCRM yearly (₹799/user) | ₹7,990 | ₹19,975 | WhatsApp API setup ₹1,999 one-time |
| Mera Udyog yearly plan | ₹7,499 | ₹7,499 | Nothing extra for users up to 50; also covers attendance, payroll, billing, stock |
Monthly figures for yearly plans are the annual price divided by 12. Sources: Techjockey and Callyzer pricing for Callyzer, G2 for Runo, TeleCRM, NeoDove and Mera Udyog pricing.

The break-even points we found:
- Mera Udyog’s flat ₹7,499 a month (yearly plan) costs less than TeleCRM from 10 users and less than Runo from 13 users.
- Callyzer Basic + Lead stays cheaper than Mera Udyog’s flat plan up to 27 phone numbers, before recording storage.
- If you only need call logs and no CRM, Callyzer Basic is the lowest published price at any team size.
Three costs the pricing pages hide:
- Recording storage. Callyzer sells it at ₹500 per 5 GB a month, so a team that records every call pays more each month as recordings pile up.
- Lead source integrations. Callyzer charges ₹500 a month per Indiamart account and ₹150 per form for Facebook lead ads or Instagram lead forms (Callyzer pricing).
- Monthly billing. TeleCRM is ₹1,099 per user on quarterly billing against ₹799 yearly; Runo is ₹899 quarterly against ₹599 yearly.

- Strengths: records SIM calls through the phone’s built-in recorder or its own Recorder APK; one of the few tools that documents its iPhone limits clearly.
- Limits: priced for international teams; ask for a rupee quote.
Pick it if: your sales team already lives in HubSpot or another global CRM.

The Recording Reality Check: Which Phones Actually Record Calls
SIM based call tracking apps do not record calls themselves on most phones; they upload the recording file that the phone’s own dialer saves. So whether you get recordings depends on the phone model and dialer, not only on the software you buy.
We call this the Recording Reality Check. Run it on your team’s actual phones before you pay for recording.
| Phone setup | Call logs tracked? | Recording synced? | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung with the Samsung Phone app | Yes | Usually yes | The built-in call recorder saves files the app can read; TeleCRM supports Samsung directly |
| Phones using Google Dialer (Pixel, Motorola and many Android One phones) | Yes | Usually no | Google restricts third-party access to its recording files (TeleCRM help) |
| Same phones after switching to a supported dialer (for example Odialer) | Yes | Yes, if the dialer installs | Recording moves to a dialer whose files can be synced |
| iPhone | Only calls placed from the app | No | Apple blocks call log access and SIM call recording for apps (Salestrail) |
| Any phone with Wi-Fi Calling on | Yes | Sometimes fails | TeleCRM advises turning Wi-Fi Calling off for reliable recording |

Two policy facts sit behind this table. First, Google Play lists “call recorder” as an invalid use of call log permissions, and allows CRM apps the READ_CALL_LOG permission only under a declared exception (Google Play Console Help). Second, on iPhone, inbound calls cannot be logged automatically and dual SIM is not supported.
What this means for buying: a call recording CRM can only upload what the phone saves. If half your team uses iPhones, no SIM tool will give you complete data. Either issue Android phones for work or choose cloud telephony for that team.
Is SIM Call Tracking Legal in India? (2026 Rules)
SIM call tracking is legal in India when it covers work calls, employees are told what is tracked and why, and recordings are handled under the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023. Three sets of rules matter in 2026. This is general information, not legal advice.
- DPDP Act, 2023 and DPDP Rules, 2025. The Rules were notified on 13 November 2025, and the core processing duties, including notice and the employment “legitimate use” in Section 7(i), apply from 13 May 2027 (King Stubb & Kasiva). Monitoring is easier to justify on company SIMs and devices than on personal phones, and consent clauses alone do not cover intrusive monitoring.
- A written call monitoring policy. State what is tracked (logs, recordings), on which SIM, during which hours, who can access it and your data retention period. Callyzer’s 2026 legal guide treats personal calls on personal SIMs as out of scope and suggests a separate disclosure for recording (Callyzer).
- TRAI number series. On 10 July 2026, TRAI clarified that the 140 series is for promotional calls (blockable through DND) and the 1600 series is for RBI, SEBI, IRDAI and PFRDA regulated entities and government (SCC Times). If your team makes promotional cold calls, or you are a bank, NBFC or insurer, check your numbers before scaling SIM calling.
Our practical checklist: use a company SIM where you can, get each employee’s written acknowledgment of the policy, tell customers calls may be recorded, and set a retention period instead of keeping recordings forever.

The 5-Phone Trial Test: How to Choose in One Week
The 5-Phone Trial Test is a one-week trial method: install two shortlisted tools on 5 real phones from your team and score them on the same 6 checks. Most free trials last 7 to 15 days, so one week is enough.
Pick the 5 phones on purpose: your most common brand, a Samsung, a phone with Google Dialer, a dual SIM phone and the oldest phone in the team.
| Check | What to test | Pass if |
|---|---|---|
| Logs | Make 10 outgoing and 10 incoming calls per phone | All 20 appear within 15 minutes |
| Recording | Listen to 3 recordings per phone | Audio is clear on both sides |
| Background | Leave the phone idle overnight, call next morning | Calls still sync without opening the app |
| Dual SIM | Call from the work SIM and the personal SIM | Only the work SIM is tracked |
| Offline | Call with mobile data off, then turn it on | Logs sync once data returns |
| Lead match | Call 5 existing leads | Calls land on the right lead record |
Score each tool out of 30 (5 phones × 6 checks), and drop any tool that fails the Logs or Background check on your most common brand.

Pro tip
Turn off battery optimisation for the tracking app on every phone before day one, because most “missing call” complaints come from the phone killing the app in the background.

FAQ: SIM Based Call Tracking Software
What is SIM based call tracking software?
SIM based call tracking software is an Android app that automatically logs calls made and received on an employee’s SIM card, including number, duration, time and missed calls, and syncs them to a dashboard or CRM. Where the phone’s dialer saves recordings, it uploads those too.
Which is the best SIM based call tracking software in India?
It depends on your team. Mera Udyog suits factories and retail chains that want calls, CRM, attendance and payroll together; Callyzer suits tracking-only needs from ₹175 per number; Runo and TeleCRM suit dedicated telecalling teams; NeoDove suits small teams wanting a yearly pack.
Can SIM call tracking record calls on every phone?
No. Most apps upload recordings saved by the phone’s own dialer. Samsung phones usually work, phones using Google Dialer often need a different dialer app, and iPhones cannot record SIM calls for third-party apps.
Does SIM based call tracking work on iPhone?
Only partly. On iPhone, outgoing calls are logged only when placed from inside the tracking app, incoming calls are not logged automatically, and SIM call recording and dual SIM tracking are not supported.
Is it legal to track employee calls in India?
Yes, for work calls, with a clear written policy. The DPDP Act, 2023 core duties apply from 13 May 2027, so tell employees what is tracked, prefer company SIMs, inform customers about recording and set a retention period.
Is SIM based calling cheaper than VoIP?
Usually yes for mobile teams, because calls run on existing unlimited SIM plans and the software starts at ₹175 per number a month. VoIP and cloud telephony add per-minute or per-channel charges but give IVR, queues and server-side recording.
Does SIM call tracking work without internet?
Yes. Calls run on the mobile network, and the app stores the call details on the phone and syncs them once mobile data or Wi-Fi returns.
