Questions

Good to know

What should a quotation include?

Your details and GSTIN, a quotation number and date, how long it is valid, the customer’s details, items with quantity and rate, discount, GST, the total and your payment and delivery terms.

Is GST charged on a quotation?

A quotation is not a tax invoice, but showing GST helps the customer see the full cost. GST is charged on the invoice you raise after the order.

How long should a quotation be valid?

Commonly 15 to 30 days. Raw material prices change, so put a clear “valid until” date on every quotation.
